Vespers (in Anglican tradition also called ‘Evening Prayer’ and ‘Evensong’), is the Office associated with the time of the setting of the sun. From Wikipedia:
Vespers is the sunset evening prayer service in the Western Catholic, Eastern (Byzantine) Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran liturgies of the canonical hours. The word comes from the Greek ?????? and the Latin vesper, meaning “evening.”
What follows here is one possible version of how an Anglo-Orthodox Vespers service might look, combining both Anglican and Eastern Orthodox elements. We offer it simply as one possible model: a resource for those who might be interested in exploring the possibilities of an Eastern Rite Anglican Daily Office.
